True Story...
One VERY early morning in Birmingham, AL, I was given the privilege to have back stage access to a live Tom Joyner Show featuring Erykah Badu.
Dope!!!
I had printed up a copy of my first indie album/CD and put a rose sticker and everything on it! LOL I was so geeked to meet Erykah and have the opportunity to give her my CD.
Anyway, she rocked the stage of course as I peeked through the curtains. When the curtains dropped, she began to walk towards me. I was trippin' out in my head! Shy introduced me to her and I gave her my CD. She said, "Is this you?"
I said, "Yea."
She then nicely asked, "Do you have a number or some contact info I can have?"
I nervously said, "Ricky!"
She looked at me and realized I was struggling with our moment so she asked me again, "Do you have a number or some contact info I can have?"
And my flicted self replied, "Ricky!" again. (UUUUUGGHH!!! LOL)
Then she gave me this confused look before saying, "It was a pleasure to meet you."
I just watched her walk away from me.
I can't believe I froze up on Erykah.
...I hope she liked my CD
